6 Taken To Hospital After Fiery Dump Truck Crash On 495 Outer Loop In Prince George's County

A dump truck crash went up in flames during a multi-vehicle crash that left six patients hospitalized, two in critical condition, on the outer loop of 495 in Prince George’s County Monday morning, April 8, authorities said.

It happened just before 10:45 a.m. on the Outer Loop of 495 at Pennsylvania Ave., according to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.

Crews found flames showing from the overturned dump truck and transported six patients to a local hospital for treatment, they said.

Two of the six patients were in critical condition, the department added.

The Outer Loop was closed at Pennsylvania Avenue as HazMat crews arrived at the scene. All lanes were closed on the Inner Loop as well, according to the MDSHA:
